So, I believe spring has finally come to Scotland. Easter holidays are over with and it's easy to celebrate all the new life blossoming all over the place.

Just over three weeks till Beltane. Funny to think about it like that, but beltane has always been a much more important holiday to me than easter. It's ashame we don't have a Beltane break. I suppose we can't have every holiday off. Is anyone doing anything for beltane?

Good game Hufflepuff, you played well. I'm still surprised I didn't fall off my broom, but that's because my legs have turned into jelly. Not that I don't have a wonderful quidditch captain, but she surely has training as her priority. i might not stay on the team - mostly because it's not about winning for me but about having fun, and I wonder if the Hogwarts league is too competitive for me. That and it would be nice to have more time to spend on Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures.

What happened earlier this week is atrocious, but I think care needs to be taken in our response - we can't allow discrimination and binary views to continue to exist. I don't know how to reconcile it, but I feel most of the student body is probably opposed to any sort of loss of life.

I made the quidditch team!!!

It will be odd to see how it works, being on a team and I'll have to get used to all that padding.

Is anyone up for an excursion to see whether Tatiana or Mab is the true fairy queen?

It didn't mention whether or not Zach had taken the mark. Or his reasonings. Once again, I am dissatisfied with The Daily Prophet. Hopefully they're reading this so they know. It's fascinating that his return to Hogwarts is a requirement. I wonder if it's what he would choose to do.

Souls are fascinating, I think. The simple idea that they can be fractured boggles the mind, but can you ever completely lose your soul? I think you would always retain a fragment of it, however small. Does the size of your soul matter? Or is it a matter of substance? What happens to souls after death? Do animals have souls? Centaurs are sentient and intelligent, so surely they have souls, but what of the squid and the thestrals?

I've been spending time outside recently, don't worry, my little lions, I'm doing it wearing shoes, and I've discovered some interesting tracks out in the snow near the edge of the forest. I followed them out to the lake and then I wondered what other creatures live in the lake. I'd like to explore that sometime, but probably not in the winter. I did manage to coax the squid up towards the surface for a bit, but there was no serenading.

Why has no one stopped Skeeter from going near a quill?

He was a prat, but if he was a Death Eater, it seems he was rubbish at it. What evil person turns themselves in after the war is over and they're safely at Hogwarts? It seems the evil thing to do would be to stay silent and continue to be evil?

But if he's not evil why did he become a Death Eater? I wonder if the trial will be open to the public. I'm curious what he has to say in his defence.

Has anyone seen my shoes? They seem to have all disappeared again.
